Service/program name: Counseling
Description: Two separate tiers of counseling are provided. We provide outreach-oriented counseling to families and children in their own homes aimed at perserving families, strengthening family functioning, and preventing family breakdown.

We also provide office-based counseling addressing marital discord; parent/child interaction problems; eating disorders; and other areas addressing stressors which effect individual and/or family functioning. Special act services are provided to victims of sexual abuse and other areas which result in trauma. Specific services include: Day Treatment; System of Care; Sexual Abuse Treatment, School Counseling; Adult and Juvenile Sex Offender Treatment; and Private Counseling.

Service/program name: Family Preservation
Description: Our family preservation programs work with at-risk families to safely maintain children in their homes. The purpose of the program is to strengthen the family and increase its ability to provide a safe, stable and nurturing environment for the child. Kids Hope United monitors the well-being of children while providing supportive services designed to address factors that place children at risk of out-of-home placement. Because the goal of family preservation is to strengthen the day-to-day functioning of families in crises, many family preservation services are home-based and designed to provide direct intervention and hands-on demonstration of parenting skills.

Service/program name: Relative Foster Care
Description: When parents have problems that affect their ability to provide adequate care for their children, relative foster care, for a planned period, provides alternative living arrangements for these children. The goal is to reunify the children with their families. Services include: counseling, case management, coordination and referral, support groups and home licensing.

Service/program name: Prevention Services
Description: The best way to ensure a bright future for children is to address the conditions and behaviors that interfere with parent's abilities to provide safe, nurturing homes. To prevent abuse and neglect in at-risk families, Kids Hope United offers an array of services designed to address the problems of children and families early on including parent education training to teach healthier, more nurturing ways to respond to children's needs. Service/program name: Child Development Program
Description: Kids Hope United offers a wide range of services that help ensure a bright future for children and families. Our child development program is designed to provide affordable, accessible and safe environments for children to grow socially, academically, emotionally and physically through center-based and home-based care. In addition to enabling low-income parents to work and support their families, we engage parents in their children's development and education and help them secure the financial assistance needed to qualify for our program. Service/program name: Youth Services
Description: Our youth services program provides outreach, home-base counseling to troubled adolescents and their families, assisting them in overcoming the challenges that interfere with a stable home life. Our goal is to avoid placement and keep troubled youth at home in their own community and school. We serve:

Service/program name: Placement Services
Description: All children deserve a safe, loving, nurturing home -- ideally with their own parents. However, some parents are temporarily or permanently unable to care for their children. In those circumstances, we offer alternative homes that will meet children's needs, including foster and adoptive homes, long-term relative care and residential treatment. Our primary goal is to move the child toward permanency as quickly as possible.
