AGING CONNECTIONS: is a computerized information system about aging issues and long-term care services. A comprehensive database guided by priorities defined in accordance with issues that effect the quality of life of older adults and the services necessary to maintain independence in the community. Issues of interest and importance to older adults include such things as eligibility criteria for Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid, housing alternatives, opportunities for education and employment, and life enhancement options such as travel and leisure activities. Services crucial to maintaining independence, include programs defined by the constellation of services which address the basic needs of older adults such as home health, assistance with activities of daily living, shopping assistance, transportation, escort, and nutritional support. AGING CONNECTIONS PLUS is an expanded service designed to help businesses and health-related organizations better serve their older clientele and employees.
