Service/program name: Single Family Owner Occupied Rehab
Description: This program allows families who meet HUD income eligibility guidelines to apply for assistance to repair areas in their home which have been identified as a potential threat to the maintenance of the residence and are not in compliance with HUD's Housing Quality Standards and local code requirements. As inspection is performed by a qualified member of our staff and determination of feasibility is then evaluated. The home must be the principal residence of the owner and the owner must agree to the terms of assistance.

Description: The Small Rentals Properties Program assists property owners who rent out property within the City of Kankakee and whose tenants meet HUD eligibility guidelines. The program affords small rental property owners the opportunity to bring their properties into compliance with HUD's Housing Quality standards and local code requirements. Projects may range from a single family home to a multi-building project with a total of 11 or fewer units. The property owner must agree to the terms of assistance.

Description: The Lead Poisoning Prevention Program focuses on residences within the City of Kankakee built before 1978 that may contain lead based paint. The program affords property owners the opportunity to have their properties inspected and if lead is found, have these properties mitigated of any lead hazard.
