Service/program name: Life on the Farm Program
Description: Provides structured activities and programs for children and their families in Kankakee County and surrounding counties. Summer camp (day and overnight) is provided during the months of June, July and August. Purpose is to provide rural and urban youth with the experience of living on a farm. It is designed to teach them: Concern for animals; plant life; responsibility by doing assigned chores such as: feeding the animals (chickens, cows, horses, etc.), caring for garden, picking vegetables; how to enjoy country living by planning creative activities such as: bonfires, camping, fishing, etc.; how to plan and take trips to: amusements parks (Indiana Beach Amusement Park), Swimming (Yogi Bear Resort), to restaurants, movies, skating, etc.

Description: My Second Home Program. Is just what it says, the child's second home. It's like going to Grandma's house. We offer the family an extended family atmosphere. They can leave the child/youth in the care of our well qualified staff and spend time with their spouse or friends. Goal is to keep the family together. Desire is to: improve parent/child relationship; increase school attendance; prevent use of cigarettes, alcohol and drugs; teach compliance to authority; build self-esteem; develop positive peer relationships.

Description: My Second Home Program. This program is just what it says, the child's second home. It's like going to Grandma's house. We offer the family an extended family atmosphere. They can leave the child/youth in the care of our well qualified staff and spend time with their spouse or friends. We encourage parents, grandparents, and any care provider to come and spend time here on the farm with their children. They can go fishing together, play basketball, volleyball, talk around a campfire, feed the animals, etc.Goal is to keep the family together. Desire is to: improve parent/child relationships; increase school attendance, prevent use of cigarettes, alcohol and drugs; teach compliance to authority; build self-esteem; develop positive peer relationships. Children/youth learn and implement skills such as: how to be polite; how to resolve conflict; how to work as a team; how to shop and cook and how to care for a car. Also, they will help plan and attend activities such as: bowling, skating, movies, attending concerts, ball games, etc.
